Shock of a Lifetime

Yesterday we were scheduled for our 6 week ultrasound (our first!) Imagine our surprise when shortly after she began the ultrasound, she starting flashing TWO fingers! After I kindly asked her why she was doing that gesture, she calmly said "two babies." I replied "where?" She replied slow enough for me to actually understand what she was trying to say "you are having twins!" We looked at each other and realized that we were going to have two children.

Twin A is measuring at 6w6d and Twin B is measuring at 6w4d.

Third and Final Beta

Third Beta drawn today. Result was 3,052!! We have graduated to an ultrasound at approximately 7 weeks on December 5!! We have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! The ultrasound cannot get here fast enough - I want to tell everyone and talk about it already!

Scott and I had discussed not telling anyone outside of our immediate family, but he has already let the 'cat out of the bag' with a co-worker. Who knew he would be the first to spill the beans?!?

Still having a hard time believing that we are really pregnant!

This blog has been created to chronical our journey into parenthood. We just found out today that we will have a new member in the Valentine family in nine months!

Without going into too much detail, we had an IUI done on November 2. We were told that the odds were not good for us, but today, we learned that we beat the odds! This morning, the home pregnancy test came back positive. Bloodwork at the RE office confirmed that we are indeed pregnant (Beta of 333 with Progesterone about 20). All very positive signs!
